The Photography Show &The Video Show Ends On A Creative High!

It’s a wrap! The Photography Show and The Video Show held 17, 18 and 20 September at Birmingham’s NEC, brought together thousands of photography amateurs and pros alike to
hear from a global range of speakers and try the latest kit from major brands.

The show, the largest of its kind in the UK and Europe, had a packed line-up of renowned speakers, 250 major brands, along with masterclasses, talks, live demos and we were there to see it all happen.

The Super Stage programme began with internationally renowned creatives Chase Jarvisand Colin Prior. National Geographic photographer Cristina Mittermeier gave a sensationaltalk followed by You Tuber Jack Harries. Multi award-winning photographers Roberto Valenzuela, Christina Ebenezer and Kaylee Greer wrapped up the show on the final day.

Experts from across the 250+ brands at the show enjoyed the opportunity to meet face to face with customers

Very Special Guest - Chase Jarvis - Where Does Creativity Come From?

What an absolute pleasure to have Chase Jarvis in the bar where we chat about 'Creativity', an essential element for every photographer and artist

Chase is an award-winning artist, entrepreneur, best-selling author, and one of the most influential photographers of the past 20 years.

 

His expansive work ranges from shooting advertising campaigns for companies like Apple, Nike, and Red Bull; to working with athletes like Serena Williams and Tony Hawk, to collaborating with renowned icons like Lady Gaga and Richard Branson.

 

As a fine artist, he’s had solo and group gallery shows in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East. In 2013 Chase contributed to the Pulitzer-Prize winning New York Times story Snowfall, and in 2014 earned an Emmy nomination for his documentary Portrait of a City.

 

He also created Best Camera – the first photo app to share images to social networks, and is the Founder of CreativeLive, where more than 10 million students learn photography, video, design, music and business from the world’s top creators and entrepreneurs. And his book Creative Calling debuted as an instant National Best Seller. Chase is an advisor to Fortune 100 brands, and a guest at the White House, the United Nations, the Library of Congress, 10 Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, and the DIFC in Dubai. Chase lives with his wife, Kate, in Seattle, and serves as a volunteer board director for several non-profits.

What Makes A Great Wedding Album, The Diversity Challenge and An Average Week in Photography

The bar is open again as Mark and Kam chat various things including The Diversity Challenge student competition and Wedding Album Awards at the forthcoming Photography Show at the NEC, Birmingham UK in September.

_{The Wedding Album of the Year Awards will celebrate the best of the best, showcasing the talent and craft of professional wedding photographers and album makers, and championing the power of print. To enter, pro photographers need to send a copy of an album which they deem to be their best work since June 2019 to The Photography Show organisers. The shortlisted albums (judging panel comprising top level wedding photographers, editors and big brand representatives) will be on display in an exclusive area on the show floor. The overall winner will be announced at the Awards networking event at the show, and will receive extensive coverage (guaranteed across several media, including County Weddings) and a £1,000 prize fund.}
